Creative Curriculum theme
The Industrial Revolution - Should we consider the Industrial Revolution as a golden age or an age of tremendous suffering?
Reading books will be sent out next week and are required to be in school every day.
Spellings, maths and homework will be sent out during the 1st week of half term and are due in on Friday 18th October.

Y6 Residential Visit 2019
TIME – DEPART Monday 11th November 2019
RETURN Wednesday 13th November 2019
WHERE – Condover Hall, Shrewsbury
A two-night residential visit where children will participate in outdoor and adventurous activities to develop confidence, resilience and team-working skills. This is an exciting opportunity to visit a new centre and will replace the usual Y6 Shugborough residential.
The cost of the visit is £65 per child (this can be paid in installments or as a lump sum) by Friday 4th October 2019. (£25 in total must have been paid by Friday 12th July to secure your child’s place). If it has not, and you haven’t spoken to Miss Chandler in the office, then it will be assumed that you do not want your child to go on the visit. Places will be confirmed on the 12th July with the provider & non-refundable deposits taken).
If your child is in receipt of Free School Meals then the cost of this visit will be met by the school. If your child has attracted Pupil Premium Funding and you are unable to meet the cost of this visit, please speak to Miss Chandler in the office.
Please bring PE kits in a named bag - please ensure children have the correct p.e kit all week, as this subject is an important part of our curriculum.
Monday - Indoor P.E indoor kit to include, house T shirt, shorts, trainers
Wednesday - Outdoor P.E kit to include, house T shirt, shorts, joggers, hoodie, outdoor trainers.
Indoor and outdoor clothing to be kept in school.
Can earrings be removed on these days or provide micropore tape.
Children are welcome to bring a bottle of water to drink in class and a healthy snack for playtime. If you would like your child to have toast and milk please send the money daily in a named envelope/purse/wallet. They will then be able to get their snack from the hall 20p for milk 25p for toast.
Y6 Blists Hill Trip
TIME – DEPART 9.15am RETURN- 4.45pm
WHEN – Thursday 17th October
WHERE – Blists Hill Victorian Town
WHY – To give the children an experience of an authentic Victorian town.
WHAT TO WEAR – School uniform. Please provide a waterproof coat.
COST – These amounts have been reached by dividing total costs by the number of children in the year group.
Travel - £6.60
Entrance Fee - £5.50
Total - £12.10 (-£4.00 contributionfrom the Friends of St. Peter’s)
Parents are requested to send a voluntary contribution of £8.10
If you would like your child to take part in this activity please log onto your ParentPay account and tick the consent box for this trip by 10.10.19 so that arrangements can be made. We are also asking for a voluntary contribution of £8.10 towards this trip made payable via your ParentPay account (please don’t send any cash into school). If we do not receive enough voluntary contributions, the trip may not be able to go ahead.
ANYTHING ELSE – The children will need a packed lunch in disposable packaging, which they should bring in a named carrier bag and can be thrown away after lunch. Children who normally have a free school meal are entitled to have a free packed lunch from school.
